TOX® PRESSOTECHNIK has designed new handheld tongs, which are easy to operate, and can be used anywhere thanks to the rechargeable battery. The TOX®-BatteryTong of type MBT-C 050 is the first model that operates independent of an external power and compressed air connection.
Whether it is prototype construction, serial production or building site operation – there are always situations in which clinching is required with little effort and low quantities. The application does not always justify the investment in pneumohydraulic handheld tongs, which are generally used in connection with an external pressure intensifier as well as a balancer. Sometimes, the space or infrastructure on site is simply lacking, for example in case of repairs outside of the production halls. For this reason, TOX® PRESSOTECHNIK has designed a significantly lighter and easy to operate model: the TOX®-BatteryTong MBT-C 050. Including the lithium-ion battery, it only weighs seven kilogram and generates press forces between ten and 50 kilonewton – accurately adjustable via the display in 1 kN steps. This makes it strong enough to permanently join different materials and metal thicknesses.
The battery-operated clinching tongs are available with a 30 or 60 millimeter large C-frame, and set up to 400 clinch points with one battery charge. The cycle time is six seconds. The user can connect to the tongs and read out relevant process data via a Bluetooth interface and the respective app.
The TOX®-BatteryTong is supplied in a case including the required clinching tools, a powerful Li-ion rechargeable battery and the charger. Optionally, the user can also order another battery or an X-dimension gauge for checking the residual bottom thickness in the clinch point.
